Educational Tools

Online learning can provide many exciting and engaging tools and options to engage with each other, content, and assignments. However, it is equally important to keep in mind the limitations and access each student will have when selecting an educational tool. Below are some of the educational tools you have access to, as a member of the Lehman community. Please take some time to read through each of the accessibility statements and/or capabilities to ensure that the use of the tool does not hinder student access.


Software

VoiceThread has a number of accessibility features available to it’s users. Please take a moment to read through the information to better understand the options available to both you and students, alike. 

Turnitin is a useful tool for understanding if student work is original. Please read through some of the accessibility information to better understand how you and your students can navigate the tool. 

Zoom has many accessibility features built into the system. One of them being “in the moment” captioning of synchronous meetings. Look through some of the key features Zoom has to offer and think about how you might make incorporating those features a standard practice. 

Yuja can provide auto-captioning, making the videos you produce accessible to everyone. Click on the link to learn more about the auto captioning capabilities. 

Respondus LockDown Browser is a tool that faculty can use in lieu of proctoring services. However, this system locks down the students computer and limiting some of the accessibility features. Before requesting/enabling this tool we would encourage you to review the material.
