Dental Assistant with Clinical Externship Hybrid Online

In this program, you will become familiar with all areas of pre-clinical dental assisting and be trained in the professional skills required to function as an assistant in the dental practice. Upon successful completion you will be matched with a local dental practice to complete your 40-hour clinical externship and gain the valuable hands-on work experience needed for employment in the field. Program is taught Hybrid — in-class at CUNY on the Concourse, 3rd fl, 2501 Grand Concourse (COTC) and live online in Zoom. Computer skills are required.

Pay average is $20.74 per hour ($43,150 per year).

In addition to entry-level administrative jobs, this course is ideal for students interested in pursuing formal dental hygienist program in the future. No discounts apply to this course. (The course tuition includes textbooks, registration fee, certificate, and externship)

Dental hand pieces
Sterilization and other areas.


National Certification

This program meets the necessary requirements to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Radiology Health and Safety (RHS) Examination and the Infection Control (ICE) exam.
