Tutoring and Academic Support Services
The Lehman Tutoring Center (For Writing, Humanities, and Social Sciences Tutoring)
The Lehman College Tutoring Center (LTC) offers workshops and tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students seeking to improve their skills in writing, social sciences, and humanities subject areas. We can provide weekly, or one-time, individual appointments with a tutor, and we also offer walk-in tutoring in writing, and for social sciences and humanities courses. Drop-in tutoring hours vary by semester and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Center also offers academic coaching. Academic coaches focus on helping the student with study skills applicable to a variety of subjects and strategies that allow the student to be successful in college, in their workplace and in life in general. Some of the areas of focus during coaching sessions are time management, goal setting, study strategies, test preparation strategies, test taking strategies, motivation, organization, planning, notetaking, reading strategies, critical thinking, and campus resources.
