Corey Ptak is the Senior Director of the Center for Teaching & Learning at Lehman College, where he oversees programs that support educational innovation, teaching excellence and student success. He brings more than a decade of experience designing, leading, and assessing strategic programs that advance evidence-based teaching and educational innovation across higher education.

Before joining Lehman, Dr. Ptak served as an Assistant Director at Columbia University's Center for Teaching and Learning, where he led faculty development initiatives spanning competency-based learning, curriculum mapping, holistic teaching evaluation, inclusive pedagogy, and the integration of generative AI in teaching and learning. Earlier, as Director of Integrated Academic Support Programs at Rutgers University, he built academic support structures into classrooms and curricula and co-founded the NSF-funded Rutgers Teaching Excellence Network, an assets-based model for engaging faculty in teaching reform.

Dr. Ptak's scholarship centers on institutional change, faculty agency and motivation, equitable teaching evaluation, and inclusive teaching in higher education. His work has been supported by multiple National Science Foundation grants and shared through peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology from Cornell University.
