Biography

Asma (ahhs - ma) Neblett (neb - LET) is an educational developer, adjunct lecturer, and editor​ from Brooklyn, New York. She fosters educational programs and opportunities about teaching and learning for students and faculty at Lehman's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). ​

Asma serves as the lead for the CTL's Student Peer Mentoring Program through which she guides and advises students on best practices for learning, engagement, and leveraging educational technology. She created and steers the CTL's Engaged Pedagogy Program, which is a semester-long teaching and learning experience that partners students and faculty to co-revise or co-create pedagogical artifacts and learning experiences that are not limited to academic courses, syllabi, course modules, practicums, and project-based learning opportunities at Lehman College.

She currently serves as an editorial committee member for CUNY’s Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy through which she stages and co-edits journal issues that focus on digital pedagogy in educational and informational settings. She served as a co-chair for the CTL's Excellence in Education and Community Conference. She has a Masters of Art in Digital Humanities from the CUNY Graduate Center, a Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies with a minor in Public Leadership from the University of Maryland, College Park, and over a decade of experience in public education.
