Elias Rodriques is a scholar of African American Literature, Caribbean literature, and Critical Prison Studies. His academic writing has been published in Social Text. He is at work on an academic monograph on representations of police violence in African American novels. His fiction and public writing have been published and anthologized in such venues as The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Nation, and Best American Essays 2022. His first novel, All the Water I've Seen is Running, was published by W. W. Norton in 2021. He holds a B.A. From Stanford University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
