Biography

Celia Cruz earned her Ph.D. in Science Education, Major in Mathematics from De La Salle University, Philippines in 2002; she is also licensed by the New York State Education Department as a mathematics teacher in secondary education. She has over 30 years of teaching experience, 11 years with NYCDOE in mathematics and has been teaching as an adjunct at Lehman College for the last five years in both the Department of Education and Department of Mathematics. Ms. Cruz has received several awards and scholarships which includes a five-year Master Teacher award from Math for America. Her many years of experience in teaching mathematics has led to consulting and co-authoring on textbooks and manuals.
