The Conference on Play is an engaging professional learning event hosted by the Lehman College Department of Early Childhood and Childhood Education that celebrates the power of play as a meaningful approach to teaching and learning. Designed for teachers, teacher assistants, paraprofessionals, aides, directors, and education professionals, the conference brings together educators to explore innovative, hands-on, and creative strategies that support student engagement and development across diverse learning environments.
Through interactive presentations and collaborative sessions, participants will examine how play can be integrated into art, digital learning, science, mathematics, outdoor education, and multilingual learning to foster curiosity, creativity, communication, and critical thinking in young learners. The conference highlights developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive practices that encourage joyful learning experiences while supporting academic growth and social-emotional development.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow educators, discover new instructional ideas and resources, and gain practical strategies that can be implemented in classrooms and educational settings. Participants can also earn up to four CTLE credits for attending the conference.
