Overview
Fibich quintet and Kramer quintet
Monica Bauchwitz, - violin, Julia Lee - cello, Nuno Antunes - clarinet, Karl Kramer-horn, and Matthew Graybil – piano
Zdenek Fibich was a Bohemian composer whose fame has been overshadowed by his contemporaries Dvorak and Smetana. His Quintet is however a great masterpiece which features both wind and string instruments alongside the piano in melodies with distinctive Czech flavor. Our own Karl Kramer wrote his own quintet for same instrumentation and we are very pleased to offer the second ever performance of this colorful one movement work
