Professor of exercise science Brad Schoenfeld was honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association with the William J. Kraemer Outstanding Sports Scientist Award, which recognizes individuals who have made exemplary contributions and breakthroughs in the field of applied science and sport science.

"I’m truly honored,” said Schoenfeld. “Advancing the field of exercise science has been my life’s work, making this recognition from the world’s leading strength and conditioning organization especially meaningful.”

Schoenfeld directs Lehman’s Human Performance and Fitness Program and focuses much of his research on strength training and muscle development. He is frequently sought out by journalists and is one of the most cited researchers in his field.

“I’m deeply grateful for this honor and, above all, to the many colleagues and collaborators with whom I’ve had the privilege to work,” he said. “In particular, I owe a special debt of gratitude to my students—past and present—whose curiosity, dedication, and hard work have contributed immeasurably to our collective accomplishments. Research is inherently a team effort, and I’m proud to share this recognition with all of them."
