Explanation of chart: Four observations, at least two in person (two observations can be completed via candidate-produced video). Two of these observations are focused on coaching/guidance, and two—Midterm and Final—are evaluative, and the student teacher/Intern (ST/INT) will submit lesson plans for these observations in SL&L. Altogether, the supervisor's aim is to ensure that the ST/INT will be able to meet all the stated outcomes by the end of the semester.

    • Supervisor observes at least one full lesson four times (in-person and video) during the semester.
    • Supervisor evaluates at least one full lesson two times during the semester (Midterm and Final evaluations).
    • Supervisor completes and returns to the ST/INT a Student Teacher/Intern Evaluation form (in SL&L) after discussing this assessment with the ST/INT after the Midterm and Final lesson visits.
    • Supervisor provides immediate feedback (within 24 hrs.) after the observation of the ST/INT’s use of techniques and strategies for conducting instructional activities, engaging in school-based activities, and working with parents and families.
    • Supervisor leads and provides comments on the ST/INT's reflective journal entries on a regular basis as determined by the supervisor and the ST/INT.
  • For student teachers:
    • Supervisor schedules a three-way conference involving the ST, their cooperating teacher, and college supervisor by the end of the first placement (if there are to be two placements) to evaluate the ST’s progress in meeting the outcomes for student teaching.
    • Supervisor determines and assigns ST's grade; and uses the Cooperating Teacher Feedback Forms (CTFF) to help determine if the ST has met required outcomes. If not, supervisor will prescribe what additional work is needed to meet standards. Supervisor also submits Cooperating Teacher Feedback Form results to SL&L.
  • For Interns: Supervisor determines and assigns the Intern's grade and determines if the Intern has met required outcomes. If not, supervisor will prescribe what additional work is needed to meet standards.
