Background
While AI has the potential to revolutionize elements of our workday and the way we create content across multiple mediums, it also may have negative consequences and damage the trust we hold with our audiences by altering our branding and creating misinformation.
These guidelines will help you navigate AI use while maintaining consistency, authenticity, and credibility with the Lehman College brand.
Six Rules to Remember
- Do not input Lehman logos, branding, or mascot imagery into any generative AI prompts.
- All AI programs will alter our branding in some way, sometimes subtly, and you may not realize you have made changes.
- You can get official, approved logos from our website or by sending us a request.
- You can find hundreds of approved images of people and buildings on our photo account.
- Do not use AI to add people, alter campus buildings and locations, or create something that falsely represents a person’s actions or location on campus
- Clearly state if AI was used to create a substantial portion of the work
- e.g. Add an asterisk and the following text”
- "This image was created with generative AI.
- e.g. Add an asterisk and the following text”
- Manually check and correct accessibility tags and other info if you used AI to generate them.
- Never use AI to represent a real person in voice or likeness.
- Do not publish any AI generated work without first examining it carefully. Common errors include:
-
- spelling errors
- incorrect dates and times
- redundant text
- false websites or contact information
- visuals that are not anatomically correct or pleasing to the eye
Keep in Mind
✔ Remember, generative AI may be using copywritten material. It’s important to make sure your imagery is not infringing on someone’s intellectual property.
✔ Similarly, avoid uploading private, privileged, and proprietary data to generative AI. You may not have control over who has access to it.
