Career Exposure and Exploration
To achieve a fulfilling career, students must first learn about the opportunities available and how they can apply their unique skills in compatible areas of interest. Lehman’s Career Exploration and Development Center is the linchpin that educates, prepares and connects students to a variety of opportunities and opens their eyes to the possible.
Exposure begins in high school with College Now, a FREE dual enrollment and transition program available to qualified New York City public high schools students. Guaranteed admission to Lehman and a modest scholarship are available to successful College Now students.
Focus 2 - Explore Possible Careers
Choosing a career is an exciting journey, and it’s totally normal to feel a little overwhelmed. To make the best decision, start by thinking about your interests, strengths, skills, values, goals, and personality.
Focus 2 gets you started. It's an online career exploration tool that helps you learn more about yourself and possible career paths. It organizes your interests, skills, abilities, and values into a clear summary that connects directly to real-world careers. You’ll also receive a list of recommended career options based on your results.
NOTE: Login with your Lehman address and password. Make sure to use the code 'lightning' when creating your account.
After completing the assessment, be sure to schedule an appointment with your career specialist through Navigate to review your results and plan your next steps.
