Admissions Information

The Adult Degree Program (ADP) at Lehman College has been serving students 24 years of age and over for more than 40 years. We specialize in helping adults who have not yet completed a Bachelor’s degree start or finish their degree. We offer flexible admissions criteria, personalized advising, courses designed especially for adults, and the opportunity to earn credit for prior learning. For more information about ADP.

How to Apply

STEP 1: CUNY APPLICATION

Complete the CUNY Application at: The CUNY Application – The City University of New York

STEP 2: PERSONAL STATEMENT

Complete the ADP Personal Statement. This is a very important part of your application so please take your time with it. 

STEP 3:

If you previously have attended college, we will need an official transcript from all institutions attended (except for other CUNY institutions), as well as a copy of your high school transcript or high school equivalency diploma (GED).

You should have these official documents emailed directly to us from your previous school(s) at adult.degree@lehman.cuny.edu. If you're unable to obtain your transcript electronically, then official transcripts should be mailed to:

Please keep in mind that mailed documents take longer to arrive and must be in sealed envelopes. Once the envelope is opened, the document is no longer considered an official transcript.

STEP 4:

If you plan to apply for Financial Aid, do so right away. Make sure you complete both the FAFSA and TAP applications. More information is here.

STEP 5: EMAIL US ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED STEPS 1-3

Forms and Resources

Declare Your Major: If you are transferring more than 54 credits, you will need to declare your major upon admission using iDeclare.

NY State Residency: If the last school you attended was outside NY state, you will need to complete the residency form.

Transfer Credit Evaluation: Check the status of your Transfer Credit Evaluation and instructions about how to provide additional information if needed.
