Instructions for Authors
The Lehman College Journal of Business and Technology welcomes submissions from scholars, practitioners, and students in the field of business and related disciplines. To ensure a smooth submission process, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Manuscript Preparation
- Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.
- Manuscript Format:
- File Format: Submit your manuscript as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) file.
- Font: Use a standard, readable font such as Times New Roman, 12-point size.
- Spacing: Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout, including references and tables.
- Margins: Set margins to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- Length: Original research articles should generally be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Other types of articles (e.g., reviews, case studies) may vary in length; consult the editor for specific guidance.
- Title Page:
- Title: Provide a concise and informative title.
- Author Information: List all authors' names, affiliations, and contact information. Clearly indicate the corresponding author.
- Abstract: Include an abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the main findings and significance of the research.
- Keywords: Provide 4-6 keywords that capture the main topics of the article.
- Main Text:
- Introduction: Outline the background, research question, and objectives of the study.
- Literature Review: Summarize relevant previous research and theoretical frameworks.
- Methodology: Clearly describe the research design, data collection, and analysis methods.
- Results: Present the findings of the study in a logical sequence.
- Discussion: Interpret the results, highlighting their significance and implications.
- Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and suggest directions for future research.
- References:
- Use APA (American Psychological Association) style for citations and references.
- Include a complete reference list at the end of the manuscript, with all works cited in the text.
- Tables and Figures:
- Include tables and figures within the text, following their first mention.
- Provide captions for all tables and figures.
- Ensure that tables and figures are clear, with appropriate labels and units.
- Submission Process
- Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system [Insert Submission Portal Link]. Authors will need to create an account if they do not already have one.
- Ethical Compliance: Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, including obtaining necessary approvals for research involving human subjects or confidential data.
- Peer Review Process
- Initial Screening: The editorial team will screen submissions for relevance to the journal’s scope and adherence to submission guidelines.
- Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous.
- Revision and Resubmission: Based on reviewer feedback, authors may be invited to revise and resubmit their manuscripts. A final decision on publication will be made after reviewing the revised submission.
- Final Acceptance: Once accepted, the manuscript will be copyedited and typeset for publication. Authors will have the opportunity to review proofs before publication.
- Publication Ethics
- Authorship: All authors listed on a manuscript must have made a significant contribution to the work. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have agreed to the final version of the manuscript and its submission.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research or interpretation of the results.
- Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be the original work of the authors and free from plagiarism. All submissions will be checked for plagiarism using appropriate software.
- Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to make their research data available in a public repository and provide a link to the data in the manuscript.
- Post-Publication
- Open Access: All articles will be published under an open access model, making them freely available to readers worldwide under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).
- Corrections and Retractions: If errors are discovered in a published article, authors should notify the editor immediately. Corrections or retractions will be issued as necessary in accordance with COPE guidelines.
