About The Program

The Lehman CN program is offering a FREE and unique opportunity for highly motivated students interested in exploring and learning about the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.
The program is for qualified HS sophomores and juniors and is a two-semester sequence that includes the spring 2026 and summer 2026 semesters.
Space is limited; only seriously interested students who if accepted will prioritize and persevere towards the completion of the program should apply.

Paid Internships
During the spring 2026 semester, selected students will be enrolled in a one-credit course on Scientific Research (NSS150).  Students who successfully complete the spring semester are invited to apply to the summer portion of the program where they may choose from two tracks (environmental science, and the biomedical sciences) and will be placed on a paid internship where students do hands-on research on the corresponding area.
  • Students in the Environmental Science track will be placed at The Bronx River Alliance,
  • Students in the Biomedical sciences track will be placed on labs at Lehman College to do research with Lehman faculty and their teams.
Students must successfully complete each part of the program to continue with the sequence and earn the stipend after the summer internship.
Priority will be given to students from our partner high schools, juniors, and to students who may not have access to research opportunities at their HS.
