A Historic Home

The Lehman Grand is housed in a Bronx Historic Landmark, the Dollar Savings Bank Building. Originally constructed in 1932-33, the building had two subsequent additions, including the tower that holds the dormitory. Decades later it still dominates the intersection of Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse and is visible for miles across The Bronx. Because of the building’s Art Deco style, excellent preservation, and architect Adolf L. Muller of the noted firm of bank architects, Halsey, McCormack & Helmer it was honored in 1994 with the historical landmark designation.
