Unauthorized employment is a status violation. As a result, it is very important to discuss any possibilities for experiential learning, internships/externships, routine volunteer work, or other paid or unpaid activities that may be perceived as work in the U.S. with your DSO or RO/ARO. Do not engage in these activities without receiving prior authorization and approval where required.
