Every year Lehman College recognizes a full-time and a part-time faculty member for Excellence in Teaching. Nominations are made by students and alumni and are evaluated by a committee made up of the previous winners of this award.

There are two awards:

Excellence in Teaching

Awarded to any full-time faculty member employed during at least one semester of the current academic year. Candidates must have tenure or Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE).

Adjunct Faculty of the Year

Awarded to an adjunct faculty member who has completed a minimum of six (not necessarily consecutive) semesters of teaching at Lehman College and taught during the current academic year.
