Your Space for Learning, Growth, and Success

At the SEEK Scholar Success Center, your success is our priority.

We provide structured academic support designed to strengthen performance, build confidence, and help you persist through challenges — all within a welcoming, student-centered environment.

Whether you're preparing for a demanding course, building foundational skills, or aiming for competitive professional programs, S3C is here to support you every step of the way.

How We Help You Succeed

Academic Strength & Skill Development

We help you:

  • Improve comprehension and critical thinking
  • Strengthen study strategies and time management
  • Master challenging course material
  • Build confidence in high-demand subjects

Support is aligned with SEEK’s Tiered Care System to ensure you receive the right level of assistance at the right time.

Comprehensive Tutoring & Academic Support

SEEK students have access to:

  • Individual one-on-one tutoring
  • Small group tutoring
  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) for historically challenging courses
  • Specialized academic workshops
  • Critical Thinking workshops for first-year students

All services are delivered in a supportive, structured environment designed to promote academic growth and persistence.

Tutoring sessions are available hourly and may be:

  • Scheduled in advance
  • Requested on a walk-in basis

We strongly recommend scheduling early, as availability fills quickly.

If support is needed in a course without an available tutor, S3C collaborates with other campus academic support offices to ensure assistance is provided.

Workshops That Prepare You to Excel

Critical Thinking Workshops

Designed for first-year SEEK students, these sessions strengthen reading, annotation, and analytical skills essential for college-level learning.

Jumpstart Workshops

Available to students in select math and science courses. Jumpstart introduces course material before the semester begins, reviewing the first chapters of the textbook to increase preparedness and confidence.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

Structured 50-minute review sessions led by trained student leaders who successfully completed the course.

For SEEK freshmen, SI is mandatory because it has been shown to:

  • Improve academic performance
  • Strengthen comprehension
  • Encourage peer networking
  • Provide mentorship
  • Increase academic confidence

Students consistently report stronger grades and a greater sense of belonging.

Technology & Study Resources

To ensure equitable access to academic tools, S3C offers:

  • Desktop computer access
  • Laptop loans (with valid Lehman College ID)
  • Quiet and collaborative study spaces

The S3C Computer Lab is exclusively available to SEEK students and located in Old Gym, Room 212.

Support for Pre-Health & Nursing Students

We offer targeted preparation for competitive programs, including:

  • Jumpstart and Bio Prep Immersion Workshops
  • HESI Exam Preparation for Nursing majors

These programs are designed to strengthen readiness and increase success in rigorous academic pathways.
