What Is SEEK?


The Percy Ellis Sutton S.E.E.K. (Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge) Opportunity Program is a New York State-funded initiative designed to expand access to higher education for students who demonstrate potential for success but do not meet traditional admissions standards.

At Lehman College, S.E.E.K. provides a bridge to opportunity—helping students grow academically, personally, and professionally.

Comprehensive Support for Student Success

  • Assigned Counselor/Advisor for your entire college journey (up to 5 years)
  • Career Development begins in the first year
  • Dedicated Academic Resource Center for tutoring, academic coaching, customized workshops to support your college/career journey (i.e. nursing, pre health), computer lab and study space.
  • Stipend ($750 per semester) for textbooks, course materials, etc.
  • Payment of half of college fees
  • Transportation stipends of $590 each semester
  • Additional support (based on availability of funds) for study abroad, fellowships, hardship
  • Eligibility to Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society for academic excellence and community service
