Bates White is an economic consulting firm located in Washington, DC. We use data to solve problems for attorneys and government agencies in areas such as antitrust, life sciences, and finance. Our Consultants work collaboratively to conduct research, analyze large data sets, and leverage statistical tools to tackle complex economic problems.

The CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) is the gold standard of certification in management accounting. It is unique among professional and academic credentials, designed specifically for accounting and finance management professionals in business. Achieving the CMA designation demonstrates professional expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics – essential skills sought after by successful organizations and their financial team leaders.

IMA’s (The Institute of Management Accountants) most recent Global Salary Survey shows that 1) CMAs earn 58% more in median total compensation compared to non-CMAs. 2) CMAs between the ages of 20-29 can earn 37% more in total compensation than non-CMAs.

The School of Business at Lehman College, CUNY nominates 10 full-time students per academic year to receive this CMA Scholarships. Recipients of the CMA Scholarships will receive a comprehensive package of benefits enabling them to study for and take the CMA exam at no cost. The scholarship recipient has up to three years to successfully complete both parts of the CMA exam. The benefits include:

  • IMA student membership for three years.
  • Entrance fee to the CMA program. CMA exams includes two parts: 1) Financial planning, performance, and analytics 2) Strategic financial management.
  • Exam Support Package – an assessment tool that can help assess the content covered on the CMA exam.
  • Registration fees for the first attempt at both parts of the CMA exam.
  • Choice of course provider review material (All regions except China).

Eligibility requirements: Students must be currently enrolled full-time and attending regular classes to be nominated. Students who have already graduated would not qualify for the CMA Scholarship. For bachelor’s degree programs, there is a preference that students completing the junior (third) year of their program be nominated for a scholarship.

Application period:

April 1st - April 30th for the academic year.  

In addition, the Scholarship Office assists students in locating national, regional, and local scholarships for which students may be eligible.
