Biography

Jennifer is an Associate Professor at Lehman College. She also teaches directing at the NYU Undergraduate Film & TV Program (UGFTV) in the Tisch School of the Arts.

She has taught at the New School For Drama/College of Performing Arts, The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and Stonestreet Studios. She has taught advanced conservatory on-camera training at NYU, and has taught in the BFA program in Acting, the BFA program in Dramatic Writing, and the BFA program in Film at SUNY Purchase

She has an MFA in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama Program at The New School, and a BS in Speech Communications and Theater from SUNY Oneonta.

As an actor, Jennifer has originated eight Off-Broadway roles and has performed at Cherry Lane Theater, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Soho Rep, The Barrow Group, The Jane Street Theater, Atlantic Theater, Capital Rep, The Peccadillo Theater Company and NYMT. She has received stellar reviews from Variety Magazine, The New York Times, nytheater.com, theatermania.com, Broadway Bullet and Talkin’ Broadway. Jennifer has been on NBC’s "Law and Order-SVU", HBO’s "Sex & the City", and the "Untitled Michael McGlone Pilot", and has appeared in dozens of features and short films.

As a director and filmmaker, Jennifer has completed 10 short films that are currently running the festival circuit. She is currently in pre-production on her latest film project entitled "310 Mt. Zoar" and on episode two of her Webseries entitled, "Bla, Bla, Bla…" produced by Stonestreet Studios, Inc.

Jennifer founded Jennifer McCabe Studios in 2009. She offers a variety of classes, workshops and seminars for performing artists.

Jennifer is a member of four unions: AEA, SAG/AFTRA, UAW AFL-CIO and New York State Union of Teaching Professionals.

Jennifer has also worked extensively as a Drama Teaching Artist to students in the public and private school systems in New York and New Jersey. Affiliated organizations include: Enact, Inc., Guggenheim Museum, Wingspan Arts, The Leadership Program, Hoboken Charter School, Bronx Arts Ensemble. She is also a skilled improviser and serves as a facilitator and trainer for corporate education organizations and Fortune 500 companies including Performance of a Lifetime, Impact International, and Performance Plus.
