This landmark convening will provide an opportunity for academic advisors from Lehman, Bronx CC, Hostos CC, and Guttman CC to increase knowledge and awareness of the transfer process, and share best practices to support transfer students.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Alexandra W. Logue will be our keynote speaker. Additionally, the Summit will showcase the following four educational sessions:

Welcome to the Matrix IconThere are a multitude of academic technologies that are available to us as we work with our students. Have you ever felt like you were trying to decrypt a complex code or that you were speaking in binary? Do you feel like you are not sure when to use what system? This session focuses on how our technologies actually work together to promote student success. You will receive an overview of available technologies as well as some specific tips and tricks for the most widely used tools.

Call AAA... (PowerPoint)

Call AAA...Wouldn’t it be great if there were detailed roadmaps that outlined all of a student’s course requirements from the associate degree to the bachelor's degree? This session focuses on how to use articulation agreements as an advising tool to help students avoid the detours, potholes, and roadblocks that may prevent them from completing their academic journey.

Taking the LeapHave you noticed a pattern of barriers that transfer students’ experience? Are you alarmed by hearing their post-graduation stories? This session will give you the necessary tools to support transfer students in overcoming transfer shock, prevent them from making common mistakes, and learn about best practices in aiding this population both before and after transfer. After this workshop, you will be ready to board your students on the Transfer Train to student success!

FAFSAAccess to financial aid is one of the key determining factors that impacts student enrollment, retention, and graduation. In this session, Financial Aid Directors will provide comprehensive information about what advisors need to be aware of when they are working with transfer students at all of the BTAG colleges.

We look forward to your participation. If you have any questions about the Summit, please email BTAG@cuny.edu.
