Scholarships

The Evalyn and Stephen Milman Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship for Innovation in Teaching is intended to recognize educator candidates who have demonstrated excellent academic performance and strong dispositions for being outstanding educators, and/or have already demonstrated leadership skills in a discipline based on their program of study.

NYS Higher Education Services Corporation - The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants up to $4000 per year to students in exchange for a completion of a service obligation teaching in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.

NYS Higher Education Services Corporation - The NYS Math & Science Teaching Incentive Program is offered to encourage students to pursue careers as math and science teachers in secondary education (grades 7-12). Awards are made to students attending school at the undergraduate and/or graduate degree level in exchange for five years of full-time employment as math or science teachers in secondary education in NYS.

NYS Higher Education Services Corporation - The NYS Masters-in-Education Teacher Incentive Scholarship Program provides eligible students with a full-tuition scholarship for a master's degree at a State University of New York (SUNY) or City University of New York (CUNY) college or university.

NYS Higher Education Services Corporation - The NYS Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Incentive Program provides tuition awards to students who are New York State residents attending a public degree-granting college or university located in New York State. Recipients must be in the top 10 percent of students of their high school graduating class, pursue an approved, two or four-year STEM degree program and agree to live in NYS and work in a STEM field in NYS for five years after graduation.

LUTE STEM Logo LUTE-STEM (Lehman Urban Transformational Education-Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is a Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) funded by the U.S. Department of Education.



Careers in Teaching Logo Careers In Teaching is part of a Lehman College federally-funded TRIO Grant specializing in the assisting of college students with economic or special disadvantages to successfully complete a program of study and become NYS-certified teachers.

The Noyce Focus-On-STEM Scholarship Program is a Master’s Level program that provides an opportunity of a lifetime for qualified, energetic STEM graduates and Professionals, who have a passion for pursuing a professional career in teaching mathematics or science. Noyce Scholars are some of the most sought-after applicants for teaching positions nationwide.

LEAP LEAP to Teacher (LTT) is a collaborative program between the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) and Lehman College. LTT provides a set of free specialized support services for United Federation of Teachers (UFT) and District Council 37 (DC37) paraprofessionals, teachers, daycare workers, and other school personnel. Participants can pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees to advance their careers in teaching or any other field of study.

TOC-II at Lehman College supports undergraduate aspiring teachers with mentorship from certified educators in Bronx partner schools. Students receive reimbursements for fingerprinting, Teacher Certification Prep Courses, and Exams (EAS & CST). Workshops are provided to prepare students for their teaching career.
