Biography
An Albanian native, born in Beijing-China to parents who served in the Albanian Embassy in China, Darina Qafleshi moved to USA in Spring 1997.
A Chief College Lab Technician, Ms. Qafleshi has been on staff in the Department of Music, Multimedia, Theatre, and Dance (MMTD) since Fall 2002. In addition to her responsibilities, she is also a professional violinist who performs classical and Latin jazz music.
Instrumental to the relationship between the MMTD department and the Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music (CCBHSM), which meets its music classes in the facilities of the MMTD department, in Spring 2012 Ms. Qafleshi (then “Bejtja”) was honored for her service by CCBHSM.
Recognized by the PSC-CUNY Union for her hard work as a Chief CLT, Ms. Qafleshi also received the CLT Unsung Hero Award, June 6, 2022.
