Students in any section taught by instructors participating in Peer-Led Team Learning may attend PLTL workshops. PLTL workshops target gateway nursing chemistry courses (listed below), which will be conducted once or twice each week and are course- and instructor-specific. However, students in other CHE sections are welcome to attend. PLTL workshops will begin a week after each academic semester begins at which time the SLC will be open for tutoring. PLTL workshops are usually offered during the week, either before or after the center is closed. Workshops can either be in-person, virtual or both.
- CHE 114: Essentials of General Chemistry (Deri)
- CHE 120: Essentials of Organic Chemistry (Gonzalez Periche)
Register for these workshops by calling the Science Learning Center at 718-960-7707 or stopping by the virtual tutoring center. Students should also check their email for announcements.
Students in certain sections of courses listed below may attend our Lecture Exam Review (LER). LER workshops are exam reviews where a Mock Exam is provided which covers all learning objectives for the course, chapters and sections taught by the instructors for the exam, for example, Exam 1. Resources from the instructors and exam directions are shared during these workshops. LER are courses and instructor specific, however, there are times when students from other sections are welcome to attend because both course sections have their exams during the same week (Mon - Friday). LER workshops are usually offered during the entire week, Monday – Sunday, sometimes when classes are not scheduled, and either before or after the center is closed. Workshops can either be in-person, virtual, or both. Students should also check their email for announcements. LER Workshops may be announced through ISSP’s Instagram and/or Facebook accounts.
