Chair's Message
Welcome to our Department of Accounting in the newly established School of Business at Lehman.
Thank you for considering accounting as your major and for your time in exploring our programs. There is no better time to pursue a career in accounting. It is the 'language' of businesses and the means to communicate economic activities. Accounting opens doors to many career opportunities, and graduates can serve in many roles, from individual proprietors to senior management positions. There are also opportunities to become auditors and tax professionals.
The Department of Accounting offers undergraduate (BS and BA) and graduate degrees in accounting (MSA). Our MSA program is certified by the New York State for meeting the educational requirements to become a CPA.
Our Departmental faculty includes professors with many years of professional experience in accounting, tax, and audit. By pursuing your educational path at Lehman and majoring in accounting, you will get hands-on experience from some of our outstanding faculty. Many of our faculty publish periodically in peer-reviewed journals and attend academic conferences. Our goal is to train tomorrow's accountants; our doors are always open to our students.
