State Mandated Workshops
Students seeking any NY state teaching certificate must complete the required mandated workshops for their specific subject area of certification. If already taken, workshops do not need to be repeated unless there is a new state update. Workshop providers should submit participant’s completion to post in their New York State TEACH Online Services account.
If a Lehman School of Education student graduates from their teacher preparation program and will seek an institutional (college) recommendation, they must supply proof of completion for the required workshops to the Certification Office, if workshops are not already posted to their TEACH Online Services account.
The state mandated workshops are:
- Child Abuse Identification & Reporting [MUST BE DATED AFTER 9/1/25] (Online - 3 hours)
- School Violence Prevention (Online - 3 hours)
- DASA Training Anti-Bullying and Discrimination Prevention and Intervention (online - 6 hours)
- Needs of Student with Autism (In addition to the above workshops, this one is required for all Special Education and Speech & Language teachers only) (Online - 3 hours)

Lehman students may also complete all the workshops online, 24 hours a day at:

At the end of each workshop, a completion certificate of attendance is provided to all participants for their own record keeping. The workshop facilitator will provide further instructions to ensure their submission of completion certificate forms to each participant's TEACH Online accounts.
