Paid Work-Based Learning

Many Lehman students also work while pursuing their degree, making it difficult to take advantage of important internship opportunities. Lehman College is committed to providing paid internships and work-based learning so students can maintain needed income while positioning themselves for a successful career.

The Career Exploration and Development Center has several tools to connect students to internships and jobs like CED 102 Introduction to Career Development and Handshake which offers opportunities such as jobs, internships, volunteer work, experiential learning, and fellowships. There are also workshops, employer/career center hosted events, resources, and fairs.

In addition, several departments run their own internship and experiential learning programs with accompanying courses. While CUNY offers access to paid work-based learning programs. All these are examples of how Lehman prepares students for the world beyond graduation, helping them make key connections and network while still moving towards their degree.
