Software Availability for Faculty & Staff
Microsoft Office Pro
The City University of New York is now providing Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus to all active faculty and staff at no cost via the Microsoft Office in Education program. Each active employee of the University may install this suite of productivity software on up to 15 personal devices, including desktops and laptops, tablets, and smart phones. This free version includes widely used Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The Office 365 ProPlus license remains active until you leave the University. At that point, you’ll be prompted to pay a license fee to Microsoft or stop using Microsoft Office.
To download Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for free please log in via the CUNY Web Applications Login page. For detailed steps, see the FAQ page for more information.

Other Software Availability
A variety of other software packages are available to faculty and staff through CUNY licensing contracts with software providers. Eligibility, home use options and other conditions vary.

McAfee Antivirus, not listed on this page, is also available for download at no cost from the CUNY eMALL. Software not available through these agreements can often be obtained at reduced costs through New York State contracts and academic discount programs.
Faculty and staff may also obtain discounts on computers through the DELL University Program also reachable through the CUNY eMALL.
