Licensing Accreditation
The Lehman College Child Care Center is fully licensed by the New York City Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care. In order to be licensed, we must comply with the standards set forth in the New York City Health Codes. These requirements cover such areas as physical facility, equipment, staff qualifications, supervision, staff/child ratios, program content, administration, and record keeping. We have also received national accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This is a voluntary comprehensive process that involves a lengthy self-study process and verification of compliance with the Academy’s criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Education. We have been accredited since 1990, and will continue to strive to maintain the standards and criteria set forth by NAEYC.
