What are Basic Needs? At its core, we define basic needs as the essential resources that impact one’s health, sense of belonging, persistence, and overall well-being.
This includes:

Food Support –Herbert Lehman Food Bank
CUNY Citizenship Now at Lehman College
Referrals are also made to these on-campus programs affiliated with the Division of Student Affairs:
The Office of Student Disability Services
The Student Health and Wellness Center
The Counseling Center
The Career Exploration and Development Center
CUNY CARES The Basic Needs Center also works closely with CUNY CARES to increase access to essential needs for students by connecting them with on and off-campus public benefits for housing (e.g., eviction prevention); food (e.g., SNAP), financial assistance, health insurance and career development.
