Submitting proposals:

All proposals must be submitted to Sophia.DiamantisFry@lehman.cuny.edu on or before the deadline for each meeting. Sophia distributes proposals to department chairs and administrators for review prior to the UCC meetings. The Deans’ offices are responsible for forwarding proposals to their School Curriculum Committees and for ensuring that all proposed curricula changes are indicated in department minutes. Approval of proposals by School Curriculum Committees is assumed unless otherwise reported to the UCC chair. New majors, substantial changes to existing majors, withdrawal of majors and changes in alpha codes also require NYS approval; the required NYS form must be submitted with the curriculum change forms and approved by the UCC, Senate and CUNY. All forms can be found at http://www.lehman.edu/college-senate/process.php

Course Numbering:

Once a number has been used for a course it cannot be reused for another course, ever. When submitting new courses, please ensure that the proposed number is available. Using a previously used number will, at best, result in a delay in implementing the course or, at worst, cause the elimination of an existing course.

Effective dates:

Please be aware that all program changes approved by the Senate must appear in either CUNY CEPCAP or AURD before they become effective. Generally, changes will be effective with registration for the first fall or spring semester following publication of the changes by CUNY. Changes that require NYS approval may be delayed longer.

Pathways General Education:

Courses for consideration for inclusion in the Pathways General Education Curriculum must be submitted to the appropriate CUNY review committee (CCCRC). For existing courses, the Senate must approve their submission to the appropriate CCCRC. For new courses, the courses must be approved in the AURD before they can be submitted to the appropriate CCCRC. The fall 2026 deadlines for submissions are September 11 and TBA. The spring 2027 deadlines for submissions are TBAand TBA.
